There’s something wonderful about watching someone perform at the top of their game, especially in something as dangerous as Dakar which has already shown (with a death in stage 1) just how dangerous and unforgiving it can be. Last year’s winner Marc Coma is a fearless competitor and champion in a sport many in my home country never see. This video demonstrates some of what it takes to race, not just ride, to race a motorcycle over 5000 miles in 15 days. A brutal, punishing effort that beats machines and bodies to a pulp.
