V-Strom Windscreen Option

Big Red was due for a new windscreen after 56,000 miles of bug splatter, rocks, road debris, and one deer collision. I was a bit surprised at the cost of the Suzuki stock replacement which can run upwards of $180. After a bit of searching I found a replacement windscreen made by Moose Racing that fit the bill perfectly for around $68.

The Moose Racing replacement pictured below is 2 inches taller than stock (they also offer a +4 inch option). The holes aligned perfectly with the Madstad bracket (and so will fit a stock setup). It installs using the stock hardware, Moose Racing does not supply mounting hardware. I’m quite pleased thus far and I saved myself around $100. I purchased mine from Motorcycle-Superstore. The shape is nearly identical to stock.

I know you posted this story quite a while ago, but have a few questions. Has your opinion of the screen changed at all after having it for so long. Did you consider the +4 option, and if so why did you go with the +2 instead. Do you see any additional value to the +4?

Nice. I agree, $180 is way too much for a replacement windscreen. Nice find on the Moose Racing after market windscreen.
