This weeks pick is Fight Test by The Flaming Lips from the CD Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots (2003). I saw The Flaming Lips a few years ago with my daughter Devon in Philadelphia, they put on quite an entertaining show. This song bears a strong similarity to Cat Steven’s Father and Son (1970) with whom the band reached a settlement (Cat Steven’s takes 75% of the profits). Great tune and an amazing CD.
