Top 5 Most Expensive Motorcycles in the World

You don’t need a lot of money to build a custom chopper. Sure, there are a lot of expensive models out there, and these are fun to look at, but they are by no means the only way to build a bike. There are a lot of folks out there just like you who don’t have £100,000 ($156,390) to drop on a custom chopper. That’s fine. Even if you don’t have a lot of money, you can still draw great ideas from some of the most expensive motorcycles in the world.

The Dodge Tomahawk

What happens when you slam the engine of a Dodge Viper supercar into a motorcycle? Mayhem, that’s what. This is a V-10 poDodge Tomahawkwered bike that does 0-100 Km/h in about in 2.6 seconds. It’s so massive, it requires 4 wheels for stability and puts down 500 horsepower. It’s top speed? 675 Km/h.

It costs U.S. $555,000. With 8.3 litres, it’s a massive bike that you probably won’t be building at home anytime soon, but it’s styling is super-aggressive, compact, and mean. It looks very “industrial” and almost seems “bulletproof.”

The Harley Cosmic Starship

Harley Cosmic StarshipThis fantasy bike is the dream of artist Jack Armstrong. Costing roughly U.S. $1 million, it’s the only motorcycle that the artist claims he will ever paint. He calls the styling “cosmic existentialism.” Using extreme colours, and his own trademark art, he blended unique textures right into the design of the motorcycle to create a magnificent one-off piece.

While you might not be able to pay Armstrong enough to do your bike, one option you do have is to hire an artist to paint your bike. Think of it: you could have a one-off creation. It might not be a million-dollar bike, but it’ll be unique.

Ecosse Titanium Series FE Ti XX

This bike is rated 5th in a list of the top 10 most exclusive bikes in the world. It’s made by Ecosse motor. Producing 225 HP out of a full aluminum engine, it reaches a top speed of 402 Km/h. What makes this bike so unique is that it features grade 9 titanium pipes with a ceramic shot-peened finish.

It also boasts a hydraulic clutch and exposed carbon belt drive. At a cost of €230,500 ($360,479) (not including VAT), you could probably build yourself a replica for a lot less and have just as much fun.

Limited Edition Fighter Motorcycle

The Neiman Marcus Limited Edition Fighter is priced at over £64,000 ($100,090), and is considered one of the most expensive bikes in the world. Why so expensive? It’s made of carbon fibre, titanium, and aluminum. It’s top speed is 305 Km/h, making it one of the fastest bikes on the road too.

All of the custom motorcycle parts that make up this bike are expensive, but if you notice, the trend in expensive bikes is aluminum, titanium, and carbon fibre. If your budget allows for it, consider adding at least one of these premium materials to your next project – if only as a small detail.

Hildebrand and Wolfmuller

This bike is not only one of the most expensive bikes, but it’s also one of the most exclusive as well. It’s not new – not by any stretch of the imagination. It’s 116 years old. Why is it so expensive? It employs 2 unique cylinder engines with a double exhaust mixture. Sometimes, custom choppers could benefit from a little nod to the past.
