La Serena – Santiago (finish): Faria takes the last stage win as Cyril Despres wins his 5th Dakar title. Despres finished with a gap of 10:43 over his teammate Ruben Faria. KTM riders comprised the top 5 overall finishers. American Kurt Caselli finishes 30th overall in his first Dakar.

Copiapo – La Serena: Francisco Lopez takes the penultimate stage win as Despres maintains his lead.

Fiambala – Copiapo: Despres acts as protector to teammate Ruben Faria and maintains his lead as Frans Verhoeven (NLD) is the fastest on the day.  

La Rioja – Fiambala: “Special K” Kurt Caselli takes his 2nd stage win in just his first Dakar as Despres widens his lead on the field. KTM now has riders in the top 4 (and 5 of the top 6) spots in the overall rankings.

Cordoba – La Rioja: Joan Baretta-Bort takes another stage win, Kurt Caselli has another strong ride finishing 5th on the day. Despres is clinging to a slim lead in the overall after a 15 minute penalty on Saturday.
